Course Objectives Introduces students to the fundamental building blocks of interface design including mental models, dynamic information displays, affordances, feedback, user flows, control systems, and interactive narratives. Students use these principles to design visual interfaces and prototypes that are both inventive and functional.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Will be able to understand the historic development of user interfaces
  • Will be able to analyse a user interface from a visual communication perspective
  • Will be able to demonstrate knowledge about some interface design patterns and their applicability
  • Will be able to demonstrate an awareness of the relation between interface design and users expectations
  • Will be able to build a considerable portfolio out of completed projects
Course Description This course covers techniques for building user interfaces, including prototypes and other prototyping tools; input models, output models, model-view-controller, layout, constraints, and toolkits.
